We live in Mandeville because it is safe. The Mandeville Police Department provides effective, efficient, and professional law enforcement to the community while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and community service. Our Police Chief and officers are trustworthy.

Numerous police departments around the country are desperately losing manpower with decreasing numbers of officers and recruits. Law enforcement is becoming less of a desirable career choice due to diminishing pay and high risk — a trend that could put public safety at risk. We need to be proactive before this downward trend impacts Mandeville.

As your Councilperson, I will not, under any circumstances, compromise our public safety. My goal is to enhance our outstanding Police Department through the budget process. Areas that I will aggressively support are:

• Salary and benefits
• Professional training
• Vehicle upgrades
• Technology
• Data analytics
• Adequate staffing levels

Our Police Department ensures our safety – they take care of us. We need to take care of them.
